BUONDI, ISN and the Portuguese Surfing Federation come together for a safer summer. With the safety of all swimmers and practitioners of water sports in mind, BUONDI started a series of workshops that aim to reinforce knowledge of basic life support and aquatic rescue for the entire population.
Two different workshops were held - one focused on the general public on the beaches, and the other aimed at amateur and professional surfers and professionals of other water sports.
The purpose of this distinction is that both audiences retain the necessary advice and lessons so that their time spent on the beach can be as safe as possible.
The workshop for practitioners of water sports included advice so that they can practice their modalities safely, and also how they should proceed if they have to help victims who are drowning, which happens with a certain degree of frequency since they spend a lot of time on the beach . The training sessions for the general public, although shorter, taught people how to react in the event of danger. In all sessions, participants were able to see how basic life support assistance starts, through practical application on mannequins.
All actions were attended by ISN military personnel and representatives of local surf clubs, with the support of the Portuguese Surfing Federation.
To reinforce the messages of this initiative, BUONDI has also launched a collection of personalised sugar packets, with essential advice on how to enjoy the beach and the summer safely and for all surfers to enjoy the waves to the fullest.
