BUONDI® is committed to maintaining a proactive and educational role in this area, accelerating the development and implementation of environmentally and socially responsible solutions wherever possible. Our commitments reflect a comprehensive and integrated approach, with specific targets across the entire value chain, including:
Responsible sourcing through the transition to regenerative agriculture
We continue to work towards ensuring that our ingredients come from regenerative agricultural practices. By improving soil health and protecting biodiversity, we aim to further reduce carbon emissions and help mitigate the impact of climate change. Learn more here.
Energy efficiency
We have improved the insulation of our coffee machine boilers, reducing electricity consumption by 15% compared to previous models.
We also reuse components and ensure that end-of-life machines are properly recycled.
Recyclable packaging
We have invested in new packaging materials designed to be recyclable and adapted to local recycling infrastructure. BUONDI® packaging produced at our Porto factory is recyclable. In addition, we are reducing the number of colours used on our packaging to facilitate recycling.
Engaging customers and suppliers
We promote environmental and social awareness through initiatives that encourage tangible action.
Examples include the Circular Coffee Programme and the BUONDI® partnership with the Portuguese Adaptive Surfing Association.
Innovative point-of-sale materials
Through projects that give a second life to coffee grounds and coffee capsules, we are developing point-of-sale materials that incorporate these recycled resources into their composition, including terrace chairs, trays, sugar holders and napkin dispensers.
A more efficient fleet
Our distribution fleet is evolving to become more efficient and lower in carbon emissions.
We continually optimise delivery routes and maximise vehicle loads to reduce the number of journeys required.
